Fonderia Augusta is a family-run business specialised in small and medium-sized production batches of high-grade steel and special alloy castings. It produces steel sand castings to order and based on client designs, in a wide range of shapes and weighing from just a few kilos to an overall raw casting weight of more than 4 tons. The Bettoni family, who have been running the company for three generations, has strong ties with the foundry world and is firmly oriented towards the future. Fonderia Augusta has more than 50 years’ experience in high-grade steel and stainless steel castings. The company’s international presence is consolidated through continuous innovation focused on improving the quality of its products and widening its range of services. Thanks to the reciprocal trust and precious support of its suppliers, which the company has built over time, clients rely on the participation of Fonderia Augusta in partnerships for the supply of steel casting components for strategic projects and plants on a global scale.

Fonderia Augusta produces high-grade steel and special alloy castings in a wide range of shapes and sizes. The company's knowledge of the sector has allowed it to gain extensive knowledge in the sand casting of components for the oil & gas, water and energy sectors, for the mechanical industry, naval and transport sector, and for the chemical, petrochemical and fluid dynamic industries, in particular in the casting of pump and valve components.

The technical competence of the steel foundry covers more than 300 steel alloys, from carbon steel or low-alloy steels for generic applications to the various types of stainless steel, duplex and super-duplex steels, austenitic, martensitic and high-alloy steels, as well as nickel-based alloys, in accordance with the application, the required mechanical characteristics and the severity of the environmental conditions in which they will be used, in addition to a number of wear-resistant types of cast iron.

The company is specialised in small and medium-sized production steel casting batches with unit weights ranging from just a few kg to more than 4 tons, with particular focus on steel castings in complex shapes. The company, which operates in close collaboration with its clients, also applies its technical competence to the production of individual pieces and samples. Fonderia Augusta supplies raw, rough machined and finish machined castings, thanks to the company’s collaboration with certified machine shops.

History

1970

Fonderia Augusta is founded in Almè (BG) by Edoardo Bettoni and his wife Augusta Gotti after 20 years’ experience in the sector in Italy and abroad.

1973

Edoardo and Augusta’s children join them in the company, contributing to the growth and development of the steel foundry.

1977

Fonderia Augusta moves its headquarters to Costa di Mezzate (BG).

1993

Fonderia Augusta obtains the AD 2000-Merkblatt W 0 certification.

2002

Fonderia Augusta, specialized in steel and stainless-steel castings, obtains ISO 9001 quality certification for the first time.

2006

Fonderia Augusta obtains the RINA certificate of approval.

2008

Fonderia Augusta inaugurates the new building (the covered area passes from 4,000 m² to 8.200 m²) with new generation plants and machinery.

2011

Fonderia Augusta is qualified in accordance with the Norsok M-650 standard for duplex and super-duplex stianless steel castings.

2013

The new deburring department with sound-insulated finishing booths is inaugurated in the steel foundry.

2014

An automated Norsok certified heat treatment furnace with a capacity of 6,000 kg is installed.

2015

The area for non-destructive testing and steel casting quality inspections is extended.

2017

The third generation of the family starts working in Fonderia Augusta.

2018

The Fonderia Augusta Environmental Management System obtains UNI EN ISO 14001:2015 certification.

2019

Fonderia Augusta adopts an integrated Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety Management System compliant with UNI EN ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015 and 45001:2018 regulations, certified by TÜV Italia.

2020

On July 10th Fonderia Augusta celebrates its 50th anniversary and introduces its renewed brand identity.
A new logo and a new payoff: Mastering Steel Castings. Quality, Reliability and Innovation are the pillars of the steel foundry's process for excellence in the production of steel castings.

2020

The steel foundry introduces machining services through collaboration with certified machine shops.
New induction furnaces and ladles are installed in the pouring area, increasing the capacity to 7.5 Tons of molten metal.
