Fonderia Augusta uses the gravity sand-casting process also for the manufacture of impellers, diffusers, rotors, mixers and other components for the energy industry, such as blades for Kaplan or Francis turbines. In accordance with geometric characteristics (i.e., thickness, the size and design of the impeller vanes) cores for impeller casting can be made from silica sand, chromite sand, zirconium sand or CERABEADS®, guaranteeing the best possible quality and excellent results. Through consultation with Fonderia Augusta technicians, it is possible to assess the feasibility of items with rapid prototyping (pattern-less moulding). In this case, the sand mould will be 3D printed directly from drawings.
