Alloys and materials

Scrap metal forms the main source of raw materials for the heat and is carefully selected to guarantee the quality requirements aimed at minimising impurities and guaranteeing the correct chemical composition of the alloy, chosen from more than 300 used for the production of steel castings. Fonderia Augusta produces castings in steels that are resistant to corrosion and to severe environments such as chemical substances, salt water and wastewater, steels resistant to high temperatures and wear-resistant steels, as well as more common steels.

Most frequently produced steel alloys

The foundry regularly produces alloys belonging to the following families:

  • Martensitic stainless steels
  • Austenitic stainless steels
  • Duplex and super-duplex stainless steels
  • Carbon steels
  • Low alloy steels
  • Nickel based alloys
  • Wear-resistant cast iron

The steel castings are supplied complete with chemical analysis certification and other quality certification in accordance with client requests.

This is a partial list of the most highly requested steels, supplied in accordance with ASTM standards and European regulations.

If the material you need is not listed, contact us, providing indications of your specific requirements. Fonderia Augusta is able to produce more than 300 steel alloys.
